Interwoven Narratives by artpearl Interwoven Narratives by artpearl
The stories of our lives are inextricably interwoven. Even when we think we live in different realms…even when we think others dont know or dont realize or dont care. We influence each other’s lives by our our opinions and actions, but also by lack of actions, indifference. One intricate universe.

I used the photo “people of Croatia I” by LunaFeles [link] as reference for the poses of the male characters.

Watercolor (W&N) and some accents with Derwent watercolor pencils, on 300Lbs CP arches paper.
Original size is 15×22″.

[The narratives in this painting: Sybil is Dreaming; The Debates; The Outsider; Hippocampus Hovering High; School Outing. Perhaps you can see more...)

Kind of like a story itself.

This is a very lyrical image. The floating woman makes me think of Ophelia art, but without the overtones of aesthetic martyrdom. She looks peaceful to me. I love what ou did with the water in the fore and background. They're very different, but capture different perspectives of the same element.

I'm glad you see something lyrical in it, I was beginning to think I lost that, and that it turned out too much of a technical illustration... Funny you should mention Ophelia...I always had a fascination with her. Not so much the whole tragic story, just the 'snapshot' of her floating peacefully in the river. So not too surprising similar images keep popping up:)
