My name is Pnina Osguthorpe and I'm known in several web communities as ArtPearl.
ABOUT MY ART
I am focusing on painting with transparent watercolors on paper, yupo or silk.
Many of my paintings depict hypothetical situations and imaginary scenes, striving to capture ideas and moods rather then a resemblance to specific places or people.
My favourite genre is surrealism, juxtaposing familiar elements with imaginary or abstract ones, in a dream like manner.
On occasion more than one way forward to express an idea or feeling suggest themselves. I like to explore these possibilities in different paintings and thus I have several ongoing themes.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Grew up in Israel, and lived in Ca USA, Wiltshire UK, Aurora Colorado and now in Penzance, Cornwall, UK
Ph. D in Chemistry, employed in academic institutions as researcher in Chemistry/Biochemistry.
Art Classes and workshops: UCSD USA; University of Bath UK

I've been informed that my painting "Finding the Way Forward " [http://artpearl.deviantart.com/gallery/33795709#/d4wx5hx] was accepted to the 2013 juried exhibition of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies! It will be held in Irving Texas 1 June -7 July 2013.
This is my second year in a row that a painting of mine was accepted!
The federation includes watercolor societies from all over the Western United states west of the Mississippi. They usually get a couple of thousands paintings competing for about 100 places in the exhibition.

Juried into a prestigious exhibition

I've been informed that my painting "Painting her ride of hope" http://fav.me/d4ghm5z was accepted to the 2012 juried exhibition of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies! It will be held in Las Vegas 13 April -19 May 2012.
The federation includes watercolor societies from all over the Western United states west of the Mississippi. They usually get a coupe of thousands paintings competing for about 100 places in the exhibition.
I feel so honored to be included !

My paintings "guarding the Realms" and "Altered Reality" were accepted to the standard and miniature sized categories of the December juried exhibition of the San Diego watercolor exhibition.
"Altered Reality" was given the "BEST MINIATURE" award!
